Hueston Appears In Court-Group To Protest

A preliminary not guilty plea was entered on behalf of an Oak Hill High School teacher who is charged with Child Seduction, and he remains free on bond awaiting trial.

33-year old Mitchel Hueston is accused of inappropriately touching a 16-year old student during an incident last summer.  He was placed on paid administrative leave once he was charged, but the Oak Hill School Board re-assigned him to teaching by video from the school’s Administration Building.

Meanwhile, a group of Oak Hill parents say they plan to attend the school board meeting on February 27th to protest Hueston’s continued interaction with students through video teaching.  The group called “Guardians of Children” plans to meet with Superintendent Joel Martin and school board members to voice their concerns about the case.

School officials say their action follows their policies based on presumption of innocence until proven guilty and keeps Hueston from being with students, since he is teaching through video from another building.
