Authorities say the death of a one-year old Kokomo girl was a tragic accident Sunday evening.
Grant County authorities say one-year old Khloe Villareal was accidentally suffocated when she was pinned between the rear seat of an S-U-V and her car seat. Investigators say the child had been sleeping and was not properly placed in her seat when the rear seat was lowered. Police say the girl’s parents apparently didn’t know she was there at the time.
Police believe the accident started when the family left Sweetser, but the girl wasn’t found until they reached Swayzee.
Grant County Coroner Chris Butche ruled the girl’s death accidental.
