Indiana Male-Female Wage Gap Growing

Expert say women in Indiana earn 26-percent less compared to Hoosier men.

One State Senator wants to change that, but it may be an uphill battle.

Kim Saxton with the Indiana University School of Business says in 2016, the wage gap got worse for women in Indiana…dropping two percentage points from 24 to 26 percent. That means women are making 74-cents for every dollar that a man makes on average.

The Indiana Institute for working families said Indiana’s wage gap in the sixth highest in the United States.
