Marion Police say a 13-year old Jonesboro girl and a 17-year old Gas City boy are dead as a result of an apparent murder-suicide at the home of the girl’s father in Marion early Sunday morning.
Police say they were contacted at about 2:30 Sunday morning by the girl’s father, who had been at work but was called about a problem with the two juveniles. The father found the two dead inside his home in the 400 block of East Lincoln Street in Marion.
Police have identified the victims as 13-year old Alainee Byer and 17-year old Corbin Page. Police are not releasing their causes of death until after autopsies are performed Monday in Fort Wayne.
Investigators call it a case of murder-suicide and say it apparently was the result of the termination of their relationship.
Alainee Byer was a student at R-J Baskett Middle School and Corbin Page was a student at Mississinewa High School. School officials say counselors will be on hand today at both schools to help students deal with the loss.
