A state panel has recommended Blackford County Circuit Court Judge Dean Young be suspended for six days without pay for a dispute with his County Clerk.
The panel…appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court…concluded Young’s actions against then-Blackford County Clerk Derinda Shady violated the Code of Judicial Conduct when he prohibited Shady from entering the courthouse for six days during a dispute in August of 2015.
The conflict stemmed from Shady’s response to plans by the Blackford County Council to eliminate two positions from her staff.
Though the panel has recommended a six-day suspension for Judge Young, the Indiana Supreme Court will make the final decision in the matter.
