Carrie Underwood is sharing how her new single, Cry Pretty, was created. Carrie explains: Cry Pretty all started when I had a writing day with Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna, aka The Love Junkies. Hillary came in with the title and a few lines and we all just loved it.

… Carrie will perform Cry Pretty on the ACM Awards on Sunday. She’s also nominated for two awards at the event, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year with Keith Urban for their duet, The Fighter.

The Academy of Country Music has added Chris Young, Darius Rucker, Toby Keith and Dan + Shay to the lineup of performers for the 53rd ACM Awards. In addition, three songs from 1993 will be remembered in flashbacks with collaborations of Toby with Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson with Jon Pardi, and Reba McEntire with Kelly Clarkson. The show airs Sunday on CBS.

Kenny Chesney will debut his new single, Get Along, at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

Toby Keith will host his 15th Annual Toby Keith And Friends Golf Tournament, June 1-2 in Norman, Oklahoma. Proceeds will benefit the OK Kids Corral, which provides a place for children with cancer and their families to stay while they undergo treatment.

Toby Keith will headline the inaugural Los Angeles Tailgate Festival, September 1. The one-day event allows fans to bring their own grills, cornhole sets and more to hang out and hear great country music.

Merle Haggard’s oldest daughter, Dana Haggard, has died. Circumstances surrounding her death are not know, but she was born in 1957 and was a member of Merle’s band.

Florida Georgia Line say their fourth studio album will include a collaboration with Jason Aldean.
