Mike Braun captured the Republican Senate nomination Tuesday, after a mud-spattered race against two Indiana congressmen.
The former state legislator from Jasper captured 41-percent of the vote to outdistance Representatives Todd Rokita and Luke Messer. Braun successfully linked his rivals as “The Swamp Brothers,” blasting them as lookalike Washington insiders while emphasizing his business credentials.
Braun will face Senator Joe Donnelly in an election already drawing national attention from both parties as one of the keys to controlling the Senate.
