Police Having Hard Time Investigating Randolph Murder

Marion Police say they are having a hard time investigating last weekend’s shooting death of a Marion man outside a local nite spot.

35-year old Roger Randolph was shot to death outside Hop’s Blues Room on South McClure Street early Saturday morning.  He was the younger brother of Marion native and N-B-A star Zach Randolph, who plays for the Sacramento Kings.

No motive has been mentioned in the killing of Roger Randolph, but investigators note that Randolph had numerous run-ins with the law during his lifetime.  They also say potential witnesses are hard to find, because people who were near the shooting are apparently unwilling to talk to police about it.

A fire less than 24-hours later at Hop’s Blues Room heavily damaged the building and investigators say the cause was definitely arson.  Police say they are certain the shooting and the fire are related.

Yheir investigation into both incidents continues.      They urge anyone with information about the case can remain anonymous and help out with the investigation by calling Crime Stoppers at 662-TIPS.
