A new program just instituted in Indiana is making it easier for those with disabilities to save money and feel more independent.
State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell came to Marion Friday to meet with leaders of Carey Services, who are helping to sign up their clients for the “Investable” program that allows those with disabilities to save money from Social Security and other benefit programs.
Mitchell says it’s great for their families as well.
Mitchell says nearly 200 individuals with disabilities at Carey Services have already signed up for the Investable program.
