Eleven applicants are reportedly seeking the two vacant seats on the Marion School Board that came open through recent resignations. The deadline to apply for the last of the openings was last week.
The applications are for those interested in replacing Cathy Moritz and Greg Kitts on the board. Both openings are for terms that will expire at the end of December, but the replacements will be eligible to seek full terms in the November election.
Current board members plan to interview the candidates in the next few days and the two replacements are expected to be named next Tuesday. The names of those applying have not been made public.
