Motorists Warned About Deer Season

This is the time of year that Indiana State Police see more deer related car accidents than any other time of the year.

State Police say not only is it mating season for deer, but the approaching start of deer hunting season has hunters out getting set up, which is has deer on the move and more likely to cross busy roadways. Also, harvest season causes deer to be more active with farm implements in the fields.

State Police say rural roads are more likely to see deer related traffic accidents, but it’s not uncommon for deer to be hit along interstate highways.
