A Marion house suffered extensive damage early this morning when fire broke out inside the home.
Firefighters were called to the two-story home at 213 West 37th Street just after 5 o’clock this morning where they found flames inside the structure. One occupant said he heard a “pop” and then saw flames. All five people inside the house escaped unharmed as did a dog, but a cat died in the fire.
The house suffered extensive damage and fire investigators believe the blaze was accidental and caused by faulty wiring.
