Early and absentee voting in Grant County is getting more and more popular, and election officials think it will only get more popular with voters.
Since early and absentee voting began about a month ago, Election Coordinator Kathy Foy says the number of voters who have cast an early ballot has more than doubled for a similar election four years ago. Foy says party leaders have also done a good job getting the word out to voters.
Foy says early voting continues in the Election Office in the Courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 until 4 daily and also this Saturday from 8 until 3. Next Monday will be the final day to cast an early ballot, but the voting will end at noon next Monday.
Polls will be open on Election Day from 6 a-m until 6 p-m.
