Funeral Home Employee Accused Of Stealing Cash & Calf

A former Miami County deputy coroner arrested for stealing a calf from a school is also accused of stealing an estimated 400-thousand dollars from the funeral home where he used to work.

Investigators say 47-year old Todd Burns is being sued by Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home in Peru for taking payments from customers in cash and pocketing the money.

Burns is not facing criminal charges from the funeral home’s claim of theft against him, but State Police say they are investigating.

Burns is facing a felony theft charge for stealing the calf.
