Official filing for those running for office in the May 7th Municipal Primary in Grant County got underway Wednesday morning. Among the first to file was Gas City Mayor Larry Leach, who is seeking a fifth term in office.
Leach became Mayor of Gas City in 2001 following the death of longtime Mayor Gene Linn. Leach has been elected to four consecutive terms since then…most of it without opposition.
At age 76, Leach says the mayor’s job is demanding, but is still fun.
Leach says he has several “big” items in the works for Gas City at the present time and wants to see them through. He says one of the biggest assets he has is the team of city officials and council members that he has to work with.
