Motorists in South Marion will have a detour much of the day while crews repair power poles in that area following a traffic accident late last night.
At about midnight, a van struck two power poles before fleeing the scene. Crews will need several hours to replace those poles and traffic along 38th Street will be closed in that area for several hours while the work is going on.
Marion Police say they expect that portion of 38th Street will be closed until sometime later this afternoon.
