IWU Dance Marathon Raises $23K+ for Riley Children’s Foundation

Students from Indiana Wesleyan University partnered with the Wildcat football team to raise $23,324.37 at the third annual IWU Dance Marathon on Saturday, March 30. The event, which is one of several across the state of Indiana, is designed to raise money to support Riley Children’s Foundation, the fundraising arm of Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and the founding organization that opened Riley Hospital in 1924.

IWU Dance Marathon participants danced for 12 hours straight to raise money for Riley Children’s. Ten Riley children and their families were in attendance on Saturday. The families shared their stories and danced with IWU students throughout the evening.

“Each year we have families come and share exactly how Riley has impacted them directly. My heart has not been the same since,” said Tenaya Shull, IWU senior and president of Dance Marathon. “Riley is a place where miracles are made everyday, and the joy of these children is admirable. Because of these experiences I will be For The Kids, forever.”
