On Thursday, Indiana Senator Todd Young and 3 of his colleagues introduced the “Employee Flexibility Act of 2019”, a bipartisan effort to once again define full time employment as 40 hours a week.
The senators maintain that the 30 hour week, which was set up as part of the Affordable Care Act to help employees be eligible for health coverage, forced employers to cut workers’ hours and thus decrease their pay.
Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski was among those introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives.
