Muncie Community Schools to vote on hiring CEO

The Muncie Community Schools (MCS) Board of Trustees will meet July, 1 to discuss and vote on the hiring of its new Director of Public Education and CEO.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Muncie Central High School auditorium.

The vote occurs on the one-year anniversary of MCS’ new partnership with Ball State University.

Jim Williams, president of the MCS Board, said the partnership has already yielded impressive results, and the new CEO will build on that momentum.

In addition to a renewed sense of optimism, he said, accomplishments include more than $3 million in philanthropic investments, a successful 2018-19 school year, stabilized enrollment, and stipends for teachers and staff.

“In our search for a CEO, we asked experts across the country to recommend applicants, and this proven leader and first-rate educator stood out,” he said. “Our new CEO is the transformational leader MCS needs.”

The meeting will be live streamed at bsu.edu/live.
