White River State Park hosts ‘first of its kind’ Harry Potter virtual reality experience

White River State Park in partnership with Niantic, Inc., WB Games, and the City of Indianapolis will host the first of its kind real-world event that brings the popular augmented reality mobile game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, to WRSP for an interactive experience for fans to enjoy from Aug. 31 – Sept. 1.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is a virtual reality video game experience that places the player at the center of his or her own adventure, offering fans the opportunity to engage with the Wizarding World. Players will cast spells, discover mysterious artifacts and beastly creatures, and create a magical experience alongside fellow wizard and witch fans from across the world, all while exploring the beauty of White River State Park.

“We are thrilled to host such a unique and exciting experience for Harry Potter fans and gamers from across the globe,” said Carolene Mays-Medley, executive director of the White River State Park Development Commission. “We are equally as thrilled to know that the game’s co-creators, WB Games and Niantic, Inc., believed White River State Park and the city of Indianapolis to be the perfect backdrop for this highly anticipated event. Our expansive green spaces, public art displays, and culture for fun and inclusivity will ensure that a wonderfully magical time is had by all.”

The two-day event will take place on Sat. Aug. 31 and Sun. Sept. 1. The event opens at 11 a.m. and concludes at 7 p.m. with early access beginning at 9 a.m. on both days. Fans of all ages are welcome to take part in this unforgettable experience.

General admission tickets can be purchased for $30 and early access passes are available for $40. Attendees may only purchase tickets for one of the two days.
