The Justice Department has announced it will move forward with plans to expand the number of marijuana growers for federally authorized cannabis research.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is expected to process 33 applications in order to help scientists to develop “safe and effective drug products.”
For many years, the University of Mississippi has been the only entity federally licensed to produce marijuana for research purposes.
