Taylor Kinesiology Professor honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association

UPLAND — Dr. Dawn Anderson is one of two recipients of an editorial excellence award presented by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Anderson, along with Dr. Rhodri S. Lloyd, received The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research (JSCR) Editorial Excellence Award during the 42nd Annual NSCA National Conference in Washington, D.C.

A Professor in the Kinesiology Department at Taylor University, Anderson serves as Senior Associate Editor for NSCA’s Journal. She is also a scientific advisor on the International Society of Sports Nutrition Advisory Board. Her primary areas of research are martial arts training, gender differences and nutrition, and body composition assessment methods. Anderson holds a PhD in Human Bioenergetics from Ball State University.

Lloyd is a Reader in Paediatric Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Chair of the Youth Physical Development Centre. He is also a research fellow for Waikato Institute of Technology.

The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research is the primary publication of the NSCA. “It is only with extraordinary efforts of the JSCR Editorial Board that this journal is possible,” said Dr. Nicholas Ratamess, JSCR Editor-in-Chief. “Dr. Anderson and Dr. Lloyd have demonstrated a commitment to editorial excellence and their exceptional hard work and dedication have greatly contributed to the journal’s success.”

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research for my service as one of the Senior Associate Editors,” Anderson said in a prepared statement. “The Journal is the premier publication for our field and the work has been both challenging and rewarding. It is a blessing to serve with some of the best minds in our field and to share their insight with my colleagues at Taylor.”
