Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals blocks abortion law that would require permission from parents

You do not have to get parents permission to get an abortion in Indiana.

A 2017 law that would require that for people under 18 has been kept from going into effect by a ruling from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.

ACLU Attorney Ken Falk says some young women may be in danger if their parents know they are pregnant or are trying to get an abortion.

He says the state couldn’t prove otherwise. The state can appeal the ruling within 14 days of the decision.
