BREAKING: JEAN Team charges several in connection to meth, heroin sales

The JEAN Team Drug Task Force has made several arrests in connection to methamphetamine and heroin sales in Marion.

On Monday, Oct. 14, the JEAN Team executed two early morning search warrants for methamphetamine and heroin.

James Lewis Markus Smith, age 29 and Amy Lewis, age 32 were arrested in their residence, located at 2402 West 26 St., after the Marion Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant on their premises, according to Det. Sgt. Josh Zigler, the Director of the JEAN Team Drug Task Force.

The JEAN Team located large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin along with numerous firearms. Smith and Lewis were arrested on charges ranging from: Dealing in
Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony), Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 felony) and Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 2 Felony.)

Later that morning, Bradley Tibbets II, age 42 was arrested after the Marion Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics at his residence, located at 2106 South Boots Street. Tibbets was charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony), Conspiracy to Deal Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony) and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony).

Other individuals were located at the residence and arrested for outstanding warrants. Tibbets residence has been a source for illegal drug use and criminal activity, the JEAN Team hopes that these arrests will bring some relief to the neighborhood, Zigler said.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, Casee O. Stone, age 29 was arrested on outstanding warrants after the JEAN Team executed a search warrant in 3200 block of Oakwood Way in Marion. Eric Levi Lavengood, age 31, was also charged with Dealing in Cocaine Less Than 1 gram (Level 4 Felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misd.)

The Grant County Emergency Response Team assisted in the arrests.
