Ronald Reagan Presidential Library saved from wildfires … from goats

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library appears to be safe from California’s raging wildfires – all thanks to a bunch of goats.

Earlier this year, more than 500 goats were brought in to munch down 13 acres of brush surrounding the library – brush that would have easily burst into flame when a wildfire broke out in the Simi Valley region this month.

Firefighters say the fire break created by the goats made it easier to keep the flames away from the library

Goats have become a popular technique for preventing the spread of wildfires in the western U.S. – it’s cheaper and more environmentally friendly than chemical options.
