Tuesday more than 100 local school districts will be closed for the Red for Ed rally downtown.
The Indiana State Teachers Association is asking teachers, parents, and community members to wear red and join them at the statehouse Tuesday.
Their goal is to encourage lawmakers to use part of the state budget surplus to increase teacher pay.
They will also bring light to infeasible licensing requirements and expensive standardized testing programs. 13,000 people have already registered to attend.
