Former Marion Mayor Fred Weagley died Monday evening at his home on Beaver Dam Lake. He served as mayor of Marion from 1980-1983.
According to the Times Union online, the 80 year old Weagley was a former service station owner and a Bureau of Motor Vehicles employee, where he served as a CDL instructor for over 3 decades.
A 1957 Marion High School graduate, Weagley served in the National Guard and also served as president of the Marion Jaycees.
