A federal appeals court will review whether it’s constitutional to restrict the military draft to men only.
Last year, a federal judge in Texas ruled that a male-only draft was unconstitutional after women became eligible for combat duty in 2015.
That decision will be appealed before a three-judge panel at the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals this month.
While no draft has been held since 1973, every male U.S. citizen has to register for selective service at age 18.
