Main Street Marion announces new board members, website and office location

The following is a lightly edited press release from MSM.

During these unprecedented times, Main Street Marion (MSM) continues to march forward, creating internal stability and growth for the organization.

By the end of January 2020, the committed volunteers approved by the board grew to 23 passionate community members, including three new committee members. Megan Todd, Tate Real Estate, joined the Design Committee which is chaired by Emily Hathway of Lark’s Song and Circles of Grant County. Kayla Johnson, The City of Marion and former MSM Executive Director, and Jaylan Miller, The Chronicle-Tribune, joined the Promotion Committee, chaired by Alexis Wroughton of Designs Group. The next round of new committee and board applications will begin in October 2020.

Additionally, Executive Director, Heidi Peterson signed a lease with The Chamber of Commerce for a new, permanent office, located at 215 South Adams Street, Suite 200 Marion, IN 46952 beginning on February 1. “The space will allow us to grow and add a new employee within the next 5 years,” said Heidi Peterson, Executive Director of Main Street Marion.

Finally, Main Street Marion proudly published a new website found at www.mainstreetmarion.org. Marion Design Co. provided all of the design implementation and the .org URL designation immediately tells a viewer that MSM is a nonprofit organization and accepts donations.

“Building capacity with strong committee members, a wonderful office space, and a professional and community oriented website will continue to show local, state, and federal funders and other major donors that our organization and, by default, our community is collaborative and capable of professionally managing significant amounts of funding,” said Peterson. “We have so much going for us in Marion. Especially now, it is imperative to show the world the best that Marion has to offer!”

It is good to celebrate some positive improvements during the current health and economic crisis.
