small boombox following it with
songs of the times.
John and his wife of a little over a

the radio pretty early in life. I
was one
of those kids you could never get to
go to sleep at night. When mom and
dad
would come to check on me, they'd
find me under the covers with a
flashlight, a
comic book, and my transistor radio.
I used to love to tune that radio
across
the dial and hear the voices coming
from what seemed like far off lands.
Usually it was no more than a couple
of states away, but it seemed far
off to
me."
