Yorktown Farmers Marketplace

Mississinewa Valley Band

September 3 @ 7:30 pm - October 1 @ 7:30 pm

The Mississinewa Valley Band is looking for instrumentalists to join them for rehearsals and performances.   Rehearsals will be held September 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 7:30pm at Marion High School.  Come in entrance 17 at building 6.  The band will be preparing for its fall celebration at Eastbrook high school on Tuesday, October 1st at 7:30pm.  For further information, email info@mississinewavalleyband.com.

Lakeview Wesleyan ladies’ bible study

All Grant County women are invited to participate in the Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Bible Study at Lakeview Wesleyan Church Family Life Center, 5316 South Western Avenue in Marion from 9:15am to 11am beginning September 10th.  This year’s study on the book of Romans will be taught by Jan Warner.  The group meets September through May.  For more information, call (765) 674-7715

Taylor Theater presents “Falling”

Alzheimer’s Heartland Walk

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting everyone to participate in the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” on Saturday, September 21st at Shadyside Park in Anderson.  Onsite registration begins at 8am.  The funds raised from the walk will support critically needed research, as well as local education and support programs.  Participants are encouraged to pre-register online free at alz.org/Indiana/walk.

Department of Corrections hiring fair

Jonesboro “Old Settler’s Day”

The Jonesboro Historical Society invites everyone to “Old Settler’s Day” on Saturday, September 21st from 10am until 3pm at Jonesboro Park.  Old log cabin tours, all kinds of  entertainment, drawings, great food including corn on the cob, brats, hot dogs, pulled pork, ham and beans, sloppy joes, and cornbread, firetruck rides, hayrides, the Back Creek boat race and entertainment, including the award winning Riegle Family Band.

Madison Grant football pantry collection

Local football fans can assist the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Fairmount by bringing non-perishable food to the Madison Grant-Blackford football game Friday, September 27th at Madison Grant.  Every donation of 2 items receives a ticket to be drawn at halftime for one of 2 footballs autographed by the 2019 Argylls’ football squad.  For information, call 667-8585

Oak Hill alumni baseball game

Soup Crawl

The 9th annual “Soup Crawl” will be held in downtown Muncie on Thursday, October 3rd from 5-8pm.
