Thanks to everyone who made this year's raft
race one of the most fun ever! "The Leaky Bucket",
piloted by John Gavin and Patrick Klein, won the
craft portion of the race, while veteran local
sailor John Sauser teamed up with Judy Schulz aboard
"Old Glory" to claim yet another raft race contest!
Both crews received a 100 dollar bounty! Meanwhile,
the judge's choice awards went to the S.S. Johnson
and Hawaii 5-0 entries, with 200 dollars going to
the former and 100 dollars to the latter. A big
thanks to the Marion Fire Department and Salin Bank
and Trust for helping make the 2008 Raft Race a huge
success!
99-3, WCJC is proud to congratulate our very own
truckstop host, Ed Thurman, and radio station
teammate David Jenkins for winning this year's Jim
Dandy rib-eating contest! They chewed their way to
victory over 7 other teams during the July 4th Main
Street Marion First Friday event! Again, thanks to
Jim Dandy for the fabulous ribs!! |

He's done it again!! Jeff David has returned to the winner's circle by
claiming first place in the WCJC Colgate Country Showdown finals at the Grant
County 4-H Fair! Jeff will now compete at the Indiana State Fair Saturday,
August 16th as our local representative and have a chance to win the 1,000
dollar top prize! Thanks to everyone who competed in, and attended, our showdown
