Escaped Michigan Convict Re-captured in Indiana Monday
The convict who escaped from a Michigan Correctional Facility Sunday is now in custody after being re-captured last night in LaPorte County, Indiana.
A LaPorte County Sheriff‘s Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a reported stolen vehicle when the vehicle sped away. After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped and the driver was taken into custody.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Michael David Elliot. Elliot was convicted of four murders in 1993 and escaped from prison Sunday night. He allegedly abducted a woman and stole her jeep. The woman was found safe after escaping at a gas station near Middlebury, Indiana.
