Black History Month Play This Weekend at Marion HS

The Marion High School Black History Club’s annual stage production celebrating Black History Month will focus on the story of a young Cassius Clay…who later became Muhammad Ali.  The presentation of “And in This Corner: Cassius Clay” is set for Saturday night at the Walton Center at Marion High School.

Brothers Jordan and Jalen Hill will portray the young Cassius Clay at different times of his life.   Jordan Hill says he learned much about Clay and about himself from the play.

“And in This Corner: Cassius Clay” will be performed Saturday night at 7 at the Walton Center at Marion High School.  Tickets are on sale from any club member or they’ll be available at the door the night of the play.

The Black History Club has put on a play every year since 1980 and it’s the club’s largest fundraiser of the year.  Proceeds help fund their annual spring college tour to
