A man who worked as a civilian jailer at the Grant County Jail now faces charges of trying to traffic drugs into the jail
Sheriff’s Department investigators say they received information that 26-year old Christopher Black was bringing drugs into the jail and passing them on to prisoners in exchange for money. He was arrested late last week after police saw him retrieve a package containing a baggie of substance that was then delivered to an inmate inside the jail.
Black has been charged with Conspiracy To Traffic With an Inmate and Conspiracy To Deal in Methamphetamine. He’s now being held in the Miami County Jail on 200-thouisand dollars bond.
Sheriff’s Department officials say they continue to investigate the case.
