Indiana State Police say a Marion man died and two Gas City residents were injured in two-vehicle crash Monday night near Lafontaine.
Investigators say a pickup driven by 59-year old Danny Drabenstot of Marion crossed the center line of highway 218 east of Lafontaine and struck a car nearly head-on. Drabenstot was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
State Police say Drabenstot was not wearing a seatbelt. They are not sure why his truck crossed the center line of the highway and hit the other vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle…27-year old Makenzie Seacat of Gas City…and a passenger…26-year old Caleb Webber of Gas City…were injured in the accident, but not seriously.
That accident remains under investigation
