Kokomo Police hope changes to the department’s hiring policy will produce a larger and more diverse list of candidates trying to join the force.
One change will place an emphasis on officers wanting to transfer from other departments after receiving accreditation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
They also hope to attract more women and minorities to apply for the Department.
Kokomo Police are currently accepting applications through late May.
