Seven people were arrested Wednesday afternoon when members of the Grant County Joint Efforts Against Narcotics unit raided two homes in Marion.
JEAN Team members, along with State Police, officers from the Department of Homeland Security and U-S Postal inspectors simultaneously raided two homes in the 11-hundred block of South Gallatin Street because of drug activity. Seven adults were arrested and several children were removed from the homes.
The raids were the result of an investigation into the importation and distribution of synthetic drugs in Grant County.
Those arrested included 31-year old Joseph Butler, 33-year old Michael Red, 31-year old Donesha Red, 46-year old Geraldine Red, 33-year old Elberta Jackson, 28-year old Anthony Atkins and 34-year old Randy White…all from Marion. Their charges range from Dealing in a Synthetic Drugs, Dealing in Controlled Substances, Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon and Neglect of a Dependent.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
