Special Session Called For Mid-May/Muncie Schools

The special session of the Indiana Legislature has now officially been scheduled.

Hoosier legislators will return on May 14th to pass four bills which died when the clock struck midnight on the final day of the regular session.  It includes one to have Ball State University take control of Muncie schools. That’s a step beyond the emergency loan that Governor Holcomb has called for, but Senate President Pro Tem David Long says the Governor has given his personal assurance that he’ll support the takeover.

Each day of the special session costs the state an estimated 30-thousand dollars, but Governor Holcomb says he’s confident they can finish all unfinished business in just one day.
