Indiana Records First 2018 Death Due To West Nile Virus

The first Hoosier death of 2018 caused by the West Nile virus has been reported in Marion County. It’s also the first confirmed case of human infection by West Nile virus in Marion County this year. Only a handful of human cases have been reported this year in Indiana.

The West Nile virus is most commonly spread by mosquito bites in the summer and fall months.
