Peru May Get Rail Production Line Or Lose It To Muncie

Officials in Peru are considering giving half-a-million dollars to a railroad company to help offset the cost of moving a new production line to the city that could create up to 30 new jobs.  But it could also lose the facility altogether.

Progress Rail notified Peru that it was considering moving the new line to its Peru facility, but the company also said it was considering moving the entire Peru operation to Muncie. The Peru facility currently employs more than 100 workers.

No decision has yet been reached.
