The Faulkner Academy in Marion re-opened in a different location Tuesday after last week’s cold spell caused a pipe to burst in the school’s sprinkler system.
The burst pipe caused water to stream into the building and forced closure of the school while things were drying out. But school officials found more damage than originally though, so classes were moved temporarily to the St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church in Marion.
It’s expected that classes at the Faulkner Academy will have to be held in the church for at least another week until they can move back to the Faulkner Building.
