Ball State to hold April 14 info session on master of social work program

Ball State University will hold a free information session on its new master of social work (MSW) program from 4:30-5:30 p.m. April 14 at Lifestream Services, 1701 S. Pilgrim Blvd., Yorktown.

Master’s-level social workers are in high demand nationwide, consistently outpacing the number of trained workers in fields such as health care, mental health, and substance abuse.

With the only advanced generalist MSW in Indiana, Ball State will provide its students with advanced clinical and management training — specially focused on rural communities where social workers need to be leaders with a diverse set of skills. Immersed in clinical addictions, gerontology, and health course work, students will learn best practices in management, program development, nonprofit budgeting, fundraising, personnel management, and leadership.

Ball State provides flexible evening course offerings through a blended format — on campus classes that alternate weeks online and face-to-face. Students can complete the MSW in three semesters (full time) or up to three years (part time).

Registration is required for the info session. To register, visit bsu.edu/gradschool and click on the link for the MSW info session. Attendees will receive a waiver for half of the $60 application fee for graduate studies at Ball State.
