New Castle Woman Arrested for Meth

A New Castle woman was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine early Monday morning after the car she was driving was stopped for false and fictitious registration. Trooper Michael Garcia was driving northbound on So.18th St. at “N” Ave. in New Castle around 12:25 a.m. this morning when he noticed the Saturn car in front of him had a rear light out.

Checking further Garcia found that the plate on the car was registered to a different vehicle, a red Buick.  Garcia got the Saturn stopped after it turned right onto “I” Ave. and made contact with the driver, Sandra Little, age 46 of New Castle.  Trooper Thomas Ratliff was nearby with his K9 partner Tora, and came to assist Garcia.

Ratliff took Tora around the outside of the car for an open air sniff and the dog alerted to the presence of contraband in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe as well as other paraphernalia.

Garcia took Little into custody charging her with Level 6 Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia. Little was lodged in the Henry County Jail. Anyone with information about illegal drug activity may call the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
