Highway Department Seeking Loan

A need for more space has sparked the Grant County Higway Department to take out a 1.25 million dollar loan for a new storage facility and new equipment for the department.

The loan would require approval by the Grant County Council. That total sets aside $250,000 for the cost of construction of the new structure. The remaining money would be used to purchase four new snow plow dump truck, a road grader, and Vac Con Truck.

A 10 year loan bid from Star bank has already been approved by the Council, but they took no action last night because an ordinance to authorize the loan, which they plan to bring up in their next meeting in may.
