Indiana Senator Mike Braun says he’ll at least consider proposals to limit assault weapons and expand background checks.
Braun says a House-passed bill requiring universal background checks goes too far.
But he’s supporting a “red flag” law like those in Indiana and four other states, allowing family members to ask a judge to seize guns from a relative found to be dangerous.
And the first-term Republican says he’d consider going further, as long as the checks don’t interfere with law-abiding gun buyers.
