Study: high levels of fluoride could be risky for pregnant women

A new study suggests that high levels of fluoride in drinking water could be risky for women who are pregnant.

Researchers say fluoride levels higher than the recommended 0.7 milligrams per liter can lead to lower IQ scores in children, particularly young boys.

However, some scientists say more research is needed before confirming a connection between fluoride and IQ. Currently, about 66 percent of the U.S. gets fluoridated drinking water.
