A man who tried to steal cigarettes at a Speedway gas station Tuesday morning ended up locked in a back room and then in handcuffs later.
IMPD says the man went into the Speedway at 71st and Binford, shoved the clerk, and went into a backroom to get cigarettes.
The clerk then locked the man inside that room, called the police, and waited for them to show up. IMPD says the man didn’t have a weapon. He was arrested. No one was hurt.
