Reversing a move from last week, General Motors has decided to reinstate health benefits for more than 48,000 workers currently on strike.
Last week, the company stopped coverage for striking workers, moving them to more expensive COBRA plans.
But on Thursday the company changed course and restored those benefits after a UAW spokesman accused them of “toying with the lives” of workers’ families.
The UAW strike is now in its 11th day as negotiations continue between GM and union reps.
