Officers were called the Circle K for a report of a theft in progress, while enroot dispatch advised the suspects were leaving in an SUV down an alley towards Western Ave., according to Marion Police Department Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey.

Officer Kilgren attempted a traffic stop, but the Durango made a sharp turn south on D St.

Wallace continued onto First St., then left the roadway and turned south in an alley.

He then turned east on Second St. and ran stop signs as the vehicle traveled east until getting to Nebraska St.

Wallace continued east at speeds of approximately 70 mph until coming to the bus barn.

There the vehicle went south on Adams St., which was a one-way street going north. He then traveled into oncoming traffic going east on SR 18 Westbound.

Wallace then made his way towards Ballard field, while three police cars pursued him.

As Wallace turned south onto Washington St. he began to accelerate to speeds over 100 mph.

At 13th and Washington streets the vehicle began to fishtail and drift to the right side of the road, then overcorrected and left the road on the left side.

It struck some landscaping stones and went airborne before landing on the roof of the car at 14th and Washington streets.

As officers approached the vehicle Wallace was crawling towards the back seat as the vehicle was badly damaged preventing the doors from being opened, Dorsey said.

An officer broke a window and placed Wallace into custody.

Wallace was transported to Marion General Hospital with minor cuts and bruises.

The passenger Erik Moore, age 33 was removed from the passenger seat. He was transported to Marion General Hospital and released with minor cuts and bruises.
